Sony Ericsson introduces W700 mobile phone in the series of Walkman phones.
The new W700 shares the same features as the W800i, with one exception of the new Titanium gold design and the memory which has dropped from 512 mb to 256 mb which can be further upgraded up to 2 GB through slot card.
The pre-installed Disc2Phone communication software now allows the CD tracks be easily converted into MP3, AAC and WMA formats and get them upload to the phone with ease. The new Sony W700 mobile phone comes with high-quality Sony headsets and FM radio with RDS. Connectivity is achieved through Bluetooth, infrared and USB, and WAP for Intenrnet.
Finally, the new Sony W700 now offers a 2 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, capable of video recording in MPEG-4 format.
As with all Sony Erricson Walkman phones, a memory stick PRO duo is included giving users much greater options for stotage capacity enhancements. The W700 comes with 256MB, enough to hold 6 CDs for occasional music listening and a 2GB versions of W700 capable of holding music equivalent of some 50 odd CDs making enough music storage available to entertain on even the longest of journeys.
There are also a full range of plug-in music accessories from small portable speakers to car systems available. Music management couldn’t be more easier either. All the software and cables you need to rip CDs to your PC and transfer them to the phone is included the box.
The W700 mobile phone has a 1.8 inch TFT display, support for Java MIDP 2.0 and 3GPP and MPEG-4. Two triband versions will be available for worldwide use - GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 MHz and GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900. The triband GSM is expected to retail in India for Rs. 14,500 with warranty
